Daniel Corey Performs with Songwriters in the Round at Hotel Cafe

Last Friday, September 1st, I had the distinct pleasure of performing as part of Nikhi Korula’s Songwriters in the Round show at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood. I had a great time, was surrounded by amazing talent, and a lot of excellent music was shared that evening.

Nikhi Korula is an L.A.-based musician who has been working as a touring artist for over 20 years. He has two bands–the Nikhi Korula Band and the Nikhi Korula Power Trio–and he also works as a teacher and mentor for budding songwriters in Los Angeles. Part of his efforts in lifting up local musicians is the Songwriters in the Round show that he produces every month at Hotel Cafe.

The goal of the show is for four musicians to gather onstage and play three songs they wrote, as well as one they wish they wrote. My personal setlist included the following:

2. Nearsighted

3. Lift Me Up

4. Where Will I Be — my “wish” song, which was written by Daniel Lanois
