LIFT ME UP Electrifies NYC Philip K. Dick Film Festival

by Daniel Corey

DangerKatt DC Music is happy to announce that Daniel Corey’s latest music video, Lift Me Up, has received the honor of Best Sci-Fi Music Video from the Philip K. Dick Film Festival in New York City.

Lift Me Up screened in the Sumner Redstone Theatre of the Museum of Moving Image in Astoria, New York, on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, and received raucous applause and high praise. The video’s cyberpunk energy and imagery made it a good fit for a festival named for the originator of Blade RunnerMinority Report, and Total Recall, and the audience responded enthusiastically to the upbeat energy and positivity of the music.

“I am overjoyed to have Lift Me Up honored by the PKD Fest,” Daniel said. “The writings of Philip K. Dick have been a formative force in my artistic journey, and I can’t think of a more flattering accolade than to have my work honored by the festival that bears his name.”

To create Lift Me Up, Daniel started with photographs of real-world objects, which he then edited and layered together using Adobe Suite, processed in Midjourney, animated with Kaiber AI, and then back to Adobe Suite for final assembly and editing. The result is a visual and auditory journey across a futuristic landscape.

Lift Me Up is a song about longing, about yearning for more than this damaged life has to offer,” Daniel says. “I have always wanted to create art in many different media, but music has always been the core thing in my life. The futuristic visuals of Lift Me Up, combined with the retro vibe of the music, make a sort of CyberAmericana that has been driving my output for the past several years.”
