If you frequent The Sunset Strip during the week, then you’re aware of the various themed nights at clubs like The Viper Room and Whisky A Go-Go: Ultimate Jam, Sunset Jam, what have you.

Well, it was Monday night at The Whisky, and that means Sunset ‘80s Night with Fast Times, one of the best ‘80s cover bands around. The night was hosted and produced by Michael Fields of Michael Fields Presents.
The Fast Times lineup consists of (look-alike) lead singer Spicoli, guitarist Slash, bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Devo. Their catalogue is an ‘80s dream jukebox of hit singles by Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, Metallica and everything in between. It’s all crazy fun, but make no mistake, these guys are fantastic musicians.

A particularly enjoyable moment was when Spicoli and Slash traded off licks of Eddie Van Halen’s famed “Eruption” solo and ended up playing together on Slash’s guitar, with Slash handling the right hand and Spicoli taking care of the fretboard.

Tonight’s show was extra special as pop icon Tiffany took the stage to sing with the band, performing renditions of Poison’s “Talk Dirty to Me” and Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child ‘O Mine,” where they were also joined by an Axl look-alike. Tiffany sounded great, the band rocked, and a fast time was had by all.
